Ouch!

Ok, so it's probably only about 3/4 inch long, but we have our first little head injury. It even let out a tiny bit of blood :(

Olivia has recently decided that she can walk (although she cannot). She'll be holding on to something, then just release and act like she's going to take off. Well, this ends in crashes and tonight, the push toy got her! She cried for a couple of minutes, but got over it pretty quickly. I hope it heals just as quickly, as we have our 1 year old pictures soon!

Aren't those lashes wonderful? Ahhh, I just love her so much!

Sweet William Turner

Olivia and I got to meet William Turner Lucero today, born December 18 (he's 1 day shy of 2 weeks old). He is just precious! I know boys probably aren't suppose to be pretty, but he is so pretty! He had beautiful skin and was so tiny! When I held him, it was almost as if I wasn't holding anyone! Such a change from holding my 20 pound baby!

I love that Clancy and I have children so close in age. They are each right about 1 year apart. Maggie just turned 2, Olivia is about to be 1, and Turner just blessed us with his presence! I hope they all grow up to be great friends (and that Clancy continues to give Olivia hand-me-downs...hahaha.....we have very similar taste when it comes to children's clothes. We plan on opening a somewhat reasonably-priced boutique....yeah, we'll let you know when that happens! HA!).

Oh, and Clancy, Jason said to tell you congratulations......on having your baby just in time to be able to get another tax write-off! MEN!

We went out for lunch. It was Clancy's first time out alone with both kiddos, but she looked like a pro to me! William (or Turner) slept all thru lunch. Isn't he a doll?
(There is disagreement as to what this child will be called! Maybe I'll just come up with my own name for him!)

Maggie being silly

Maggie trying to get Olivia to do "something". She was constantly saying "come on baby, come with me" or "come on baby, do this". She has trouble saying Olivia's name, so she just refers to her as baby. Cute!

Christmas Morning

Santa dropped off gifts for Olivia for the first time ever on Christmas Eve! Luckily she never saw him, as we know she's not a fan of the big guy! I was almost giddy waiting on her to wake up. I know she's young and doesn't understand the concept, but she DEFINITELY understands new toys and loves them, so I was ready to see if she liked what Santa had picked out for her!

Here she is seeing her pile of gifts for the first time. She wasn't totally sure what to think.

And 10 seconds later, she was about jumping out of my arms to get to those new toys!

Checking it all out

Love this pic! I guess she was trying to see if something was inside the flower.

Trying out her new chair.

LOVED her house. She refuses to leave the door shut on her house. We'll close it, and she immediately opens it, even if she's not really sitting there playing with it. She is strong-willed for sure.

Checking out her stocking goodies. She loves balls, so Santa brought her several of them. Her stocking also had new sippy cups, a couple of books, some snack bowls and some alphabet flash cards. You can't encourage education too soon, right?! HA!

We had a wonderful first Christmas with Olivia! We are so blessed to have her in our lives. I couldn't ask for a better daughter. She's smart, well-behaved, sleeps 12 hours/night, has a really sweet disposition, and has only thrown a couple of small tantrums so far! We just love her SO much!

Hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas as well!

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, we went to Elizabeth's house for a while. We only stayed a couple of hours, as the roads were starting to freeze. When we got home, Santa had come and dropped off some things. We had to help put together a couple of things for him too. After that, Jason and I decided to go ahead and exhange our gifts, as we knew Christmas morning would be busy.

Love this one of these two...she sure loves her Daddy (and has started saying Daddy lately instead of Dada...growing up!)

In her new Christmas Eve pajamas (a family tradition).

This one is way out of order, but I just had to include it. This was on Christmas Eve during the day. She always takes off her socks and puts them in her mouth and crawls around. Silly girl! (and no, our puppies don't normally stay caged!)

Here's Jason modeling his new Snuggie! I HATE the heater, so prior to Olivia, I rarely allowed it to be turned on! I always suggested Jason put on socks, a sweatshirt, cover up with a throw...just whatever it took to stay warm, but I just wasn't going to run the heater full blast (it's expensive and dries out the air)! Anyway, when we first began seeing Snuggie commercials, he always joked that he needed one. Well, your wish has been granted, my dear!

Santa left these gifts for Olivia.

Christmas Day/Night 2009

Christmas Day was a LONG day! After we woke up and checked out what Santa brought Olivia, we went over to Elizabeth's house for breakfast and more present opening. After we finished up there, Olivia and I packed up and headed to East Texas to spend time with my side of the family. Jason had to work on Saturday morning, so he didn't get to go with us. (I totally forgot to take my camera to my Granddaddy's and failed to download the pics we did get from my mom's camera).

Jason likes to keep Olivia contained in various contraptions! Here she is at her Gram E's house saying "please get me out of here so I can open presents"!

Emily wearing her reindeer ears.

Gram E

Olivia loved the boys' footballs. They seemed ok with her playing with it until she started putting it in her mouth!

Red Wagon from Gram E. We should get a lot of use out of this over the next few years!

Olivia and Mike

It was a White Christmas! It snowed all day Christmas Eve. I think we officially got a little over 3 inches (we got about another inch today).

Christmas Morning in the snow (I couldn't really let her play in it as we didn't have time to get all wet!)

Pretty deep for Texas.

Christmas night at Nana's house

Trying on mommy's new scarf

I kept piling up Olivia's Christmas gifts around the fireplace. This was most of it (minus a few things). PLEASE CONTROL YOURSELVES WHEN TIME TO PURCHASE BIRTHDAY GIFTS! HAHA! We really should have put "no gifts" on her birthday invitation! We have been very blessed to have so many people who love Olivia....just remember that she'll love you all even if you don't buy her stuff! Thanks to everyone!!!

Give me my baby!!!

If you read an earlier post, you'll know that Olivia is opening 1-2 presents a night until Christmas Day, when Santa will come for a visit! She's really getting the hang of this present opening business. If it's a shirt box, forget it....she doesn't care about opening it! BUT...if she can tell that a toy is under that paper, then she's all about trying to get to it!

Her Aunt Lindsey sent her this baby doll. Very sweet. Wonder what she'll get tomorrow???

Daddy was trying to get the baby out of the box. She was NOT happy that he took that baby from her!

Giving the baby cuddles!
(right before she threw her)

Christmas Artwork

I love that Olivia goes to a daycare that spends time doing projects with them...even in the infant room. They're always sending home little art pieces they've done. I took pictures of all of the Christmas art. I thought it was all cute! The first picture was done at Maggies birthday party with her hands and feet, but the others are from school.

Hand Wreath - looks like her hand may have it other places on the paper too!

Love the Santa Hand!

And the GRAND FINALE....our first ever Christmas gift from Olivia! This was wrapped, and the tag read: To: Mommy & Daddy, From: Olivia. AWWW! This will proudly hang on our tree for years to come!

Probably spoiled rotten...

Christmas morning will consist of only Santa’s gifts this year, as we’ve decided to let Olivia start opening some presents early! This child will have more than any 11 month old could possibly need, so I have a feeling it would be a little overwhelming to open everything Christmas morning, especially since we’ll also be going to Jason’s mom’s house Christmas morning and then driving to my mom’s house that afternoon. It’s going to be a long day!

So….we’ve decided to let her open 1 random gift per day until Christmas Eve, when she’ll get to open her first pair of Christmas Eve pajamas (this was a tradition growing up, so I'm going to keep it alive)!

SATURDAY NIGHT: Our friend BJ and Lindsey came over and brought her a couple of gifts. She got a really cute red sweater/jean set and some super cute "Taggies" Christmas animals in a sled.

SUNDAY: This was her gift from us on Sunday. They're just little soft stacking blocks. She loves to throw them (along with every other toy)!

MONDAY EVENING: She opened a gift from my sister and her family (who sent three, so I guess she'll probably open another one from them tomorrow and Wednesday as well!). It was a musical toy (xylophone maybe?). She loved it, but wanted to eat the drumstick instead of beat the toy with it!

Look at that little belly!

11 Months - ALMOST one!

Our baby girl was 11 months old yesterday! Her first birthday will be here before we know it, especially with all the excitement of Christmas between now and then! I'm really too exhausted tonight to even try to think of all the things she is doing these days...it really seems like I just wrote the 10 month update!

Her FAVORITE word is "uh-oh". She's finally perfected the "oh" part, and she says it ALL THE TIME! She woke up the other morning, and I heard her on the monitor saying "Uh oh.....uh oh....uh oh". I was like "what in the world could she be saying "uh-oh" about? I discovered that she had tossed all three of her pacifiers out of her bed. So I picked them up, put them back in, and she tossed them right back out and said "uh ohhhh". We do this with food as well. She just loves to drop the food off her highchair so she can say "uh oh"....like she just doesn't have a clue how that stuff got down there!!! HA! Gracie and Bentley have been enjoying it...that's for sure!

She still says mamma and dada a lot. She really seems to be in a big stranger anxiety phase. She HATES the church nursery all of a sudden. You would think she'd love going in there to play, but the second I take her in there, she pitches a fit. I hope that gets better because it sure makes it hard to leave her!

Let's see....she loves to throw, and throws everything. She likes to "roll" or throw the ball back and forth. She also just started throwing it for Bentley (our dog) to go get. She thinks that is just hilarious. She also loves music and dances a lot. If I start singing, she immediately starts bobbing her head or swaying back and forth. I'm glad she thinks my voice is pretty...I'm not sure anyone else would agree! HA!

We love her more and more with each passing day! I don't know how it's possible, but it happens!

I TRIED to get a picture of Olivia Sunday morning before church. Getting a decent picture is really becoming a difficult task! Please say a prayer for the lady that will be taking her 1 year portraits in January!!!
