My Last Weekend...(too dramatic?)

Unfortunately, this was my last weekend before starting work next week on April 1. Since this past week was pretty busy, I really just wanted to hang out at the house this weekend and spend time with Olivia....so that's pretty much what we did!



On Saturday, Jason worked on another backyard project while I stayed in and attempted to clean the house (in between feeding and taking care of the baby...didn't get it all clean!). We had an area under our Live Oak in the backyard that was pretty much just dirt. This was not fun when it rained, as it was usually the first place the dogs would run to. As a result, I would always end up having muddy pawprints all over my floors after they came inside. So, he rented a tiller (sp?) and planted some sod in the sparce areas. With the new grass and the new fence, our backyard is SLOWLY becoming a little more pleasant to the eye (and hopefully to buyers one day)!

On Sunday, we went to Elizabeth's house for breakfast, and Olivia met Blaire & Doug, her 2nd cousins. While I took my camera, I forgot to actually take pictures. I did, however, think to take a couple of pictures on the way home of the very large pink bunny that Elizabeth gave Olivia. It probably should have had on a seatbelt!

Our Monday Outing

Olivia and I went to Rockwall today to have lunch and visit with Clancy & Maggie and Nicole & Hudson. We started with mexican food at Gloria's and finished with ice cream at Cold Stone (and I wonder why I haven't gotten back in my pre-pregnancy pants yet)!! Clancy's daughter Maggie is about 16 months old and is adorable. She really likes the little babies and insisted on giving Hudson his pacifier, whether he wanted it or not! It sure has been nice being a Lady of Leisure, but back to work next week! I'll miss hanging out with you girls!

Olivia and her daddy were on the floor the other night having tummy time, which didn't last very long as she's not really a fan of the much-needed tummy time! Once she returned to her back, she was very content and just laid there kicking and looking at her daddy. I love watching the two of them interact. She really watches him and he is very sweet with her (as long as she isn't interrupting his TV time...ha!).

The rest of the pictures show some of her various facial expressions. She is really starting to be more expressive. Check out her eyebrows...they are usually very telling!

Sip & See

One of Elizabeth's friends held a Sip & See so everyone who had not had a chance to do so could come and meet Olivia. I was a bit concerned, as it was held in the evening, and while Olivia is typically a great baby, she does have some fussy evenings. I was really hoping she would be well-behaved, as you don't really want your baby to be cranky and fussy when meeting new people! Well, she was perfect all evening and did not disappoint at all! She was showing out quite a bit...cooing and smiling as if on cue. Everyone just loved her. One lady said she was "addicting" and many commented that she had been beautiful since birth, as they had all seen pictures. I was very proud of her for being such a wonderful baby....but I guess I kind of already knew that! :)

Day to Day Life

Olivia has been "talking" to us for a couple of weeks now. She always seems so proud of herself when she coo's. Check out our video of her cooing and smiling:

A few weeks ago I let the dogs out to potty and they managed to escape our backyard (which was quite devestating at the time!!). This event prompted Jason to put up a new fence. Gracie and Bentley were out with him this weekend while he was working on it. I guess they got tired of running around and decided to take a break on the patio furniture.

Here are a few random pictures of Olivia at 6 weeks. She is growing fast. I'm not sure she's getting much heavier, but she's definitely getting longer as she has now outgrown 4-5 things just because of the length. I'm curious to see exactly how much she has grown when we go for our next appointment.

On the road...

Olivia will be six weeks old tomorrow (3/6/09)! I can't believe it!

We went to Jasper this past weekend, which was our first out of town experience. The trip takes about 5 hours, and Olivia slept the entire way there and the entire way back home. I was concerned that we would have to stop along the way to feed her, but she came thru for us and waited! We've truly been blessed with such a good little baby girl.

After downloading these pictures, I noticed something...no one looks at the camera when they are holding the baby. Everyone ALWAYS looks down at the baby instead of at the camera. I guess that's because she's just too cute and they can't take their eyes off of her! LOL Everyone also apparently holds her in the same arm. Just an observation!
