These are the Days of Our Olivia.

It's been a while since I've written some specifics about Olivia...and I had a friend that just did a Pre-K list, so thought I would sort of follow with my own version.

Stats

Age:  4 1/2 (as of July 20)
Weight:  around 38 pounds
Height: Not sure, but definitely less than 42 inches
(which was the requirement for some of the water park rides yesterday). 

Wearing mostly 4T, although she has a few 3T shorts/jeans she still wears.

Favorite Food

Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich --- she LIVES on them

Favorite Toy
She plays with her babies a lot....probably more than anything else.  She also really enjoys her kitchen and doing puzzles.

(these are my observations of Olivia's favorites and not necessarily the same answers she would provide. Lol.  I'll have to quiz her later!)

Funny Sayings

"I was just talking to myself" (after I've asked her to repeat something)

"Is it fog yet or is it still summer?"

She's been in her Pre-K class all summer but they technically start "school" next week.  She can't wait and is so excited to get back to doing worksheets again.  I hope she keeps her love for learning alive for many many years to come!

Reading

As most parents do, we spell out words when we don't want her to hear us.  Mrs. Misty (her pre-k teacher) said we'll have to stop spelling any 3 letter words by October...she's confident she'll know most of them by then....hard to believe but I guess we shall see!  I know she will be THRILLED if she can read a little by then. She wants to read more than anything.

She knows all of her letters and the sounds they make. I'm obviously not a teacher.  I hope her teacher helps guide me on how to help her because I have no clue how to teach someone to read!!!

Numbers

She can count to 100 --- although she gets stuck on some of the higher numbers when it's time to move to the next 10.  She can make it to about 50 before she starts getting a little confused.

She is beyond inquisitive.  Regardless of the answer you provide to a question, she WILL have a follow up question.  And then another one. And then another....and yet another one.  She never runs out of questions. I guess that's a good thing -- it's how she learns.  But sometimes you just want to yell "STOP IT!!!"  Hahaha.  She pretty much never stops talking.  Most of the time it's pretty cute and humorous though :) 

First Sleepover

Olivia and her BFF Kayla have been begging to have a sleepover.  It cracks me up that they even know what a sleepover is at four years old!  I'm not comfortable yet sending Olivia anywhere but Kayla's mom was cool with her coming to stay with us.  Yay!

The girls were SO EXCITED about it.

They immediately got to playing....I didn't monitor much and just let them play.  I had so much fun just listening to their conversations!  They are hilarious.

Of course, playtime wouldn't be complete without dress-up!

And boy...did they dress up!  

They were just in heaven spending that much time together.

LOVE

They danced...

They had a mini-pillow fight

They played in the playhouse.

We taught Kayla how to play a couple of games.

They ate popcorn

And they slept in "Nana's bed" and only woke up once.

All in all, I'd say we had a VERY successful first sleepover experience and would be happy to have Miss Kayla come again! 

Big Kids & Field Trips

The Pre-K class gets to go on field trips --- cause they're the big kids on campus now!  Ugh - that pains me!  

The first field trip was "splash putt putt" followed by picnic lunch and some time in the arcade.  I just love all (well, most...haha) of the kids in her class.  It's going to be so sad next year (2014) when they all go to different schools!

As the "official" classroom photographer, I made the kids gather for a pic....thought they did pretty good! 

The second field trip was to a "fancy" McDonald's for play time and breakfast.

They had a "Big" piano.

A HUGE climbing thing with all kinds of cool toys inside of it (yes, I had to climb inside to get pics of the kids).

Giant french fry slide....that also played music.

Next up -- bowling, splash pad, chick-fil-a.....and not really sure what else!

It's going to be a fun-filled summer! 

Baby Shower for Auntie Em

My sister-in-law is expecting a baby boy in September.  They live in the Houston-area but some local DFW friends threw her a shower recently.

End of School Program

Well, I guess I'm only a month late posting this, but Olivia had hear end-of-the-year program at school the first week of June.  Her class sang a couple of songs and lead the pledge.

Ms. Tiana (her all time favorite teacher) presented her with a certificate.

Olivia and Kayla with Tiana. They have since moved to the Pre-K classroom.  Lessons won't begin again until August, so they've been having a big time going on field trips and learning the ropes in the "big kid classroom".

Teacher Appreciation Week

Typically, I purchase one larger gift for Teacher Appreciation Week, but this year I decided to do a little something for every day instead.  They seemed to like it and enjoyed seeing what their goody would be for the day.

Filled with nail polish, clippers, toe separators, etc.

A journal and a pen

A reusable water bottle....by far, a favorite.  All three teachers seem to bring this and use it daily

Phone Dump --- 2 (or 3) months in Pics

If I've already shared some of this, my apologies....since I only post once in a blue moon, I can't remember what I have or have not shared :)

That being said, I just downloaded a lot of pics from my phone from the past few months...

How cute are they?!  She really does think they want to be her BFF.

I think this was Easter weekend...but can't remember for sure.  I let Olivia get her first real pedicure.  She usually just sits in the chair and gets her nails painted, but I went ahead and let her get the whole works. She loved it. 

We went to Build-A-Bear for the first time and purchased a ridiculously priced bunny she named "Sophie"...complete with princess clothes, an everyday outfit, shoes, panties, bows, a crown....you get the picture.

Jason and I ran our first mud race.  The obstacles were hard (i.e....tall...and I'm scared of heights!) but we had a really good time and would definitely do one again. 

What?!  He doesn't look like he had fun to you??? ;)

Olivia is the proud new owner of that large diamond she's been wanting....

Shared this one to tell you....well, that she's just adorable. Man, I love this child.

I took Olivia with me to a Mary Kay party.  She loved it. 

And is now an expert at makeup application. 

Jason and I went on a segway tour.  Apparently it's something middle-to-old aged couples do...as we were the youngest by at least 20 years, but we had fun anyway!  If you get the chance to do it, go for it.  It really was fun. 

We had a date night too -- which never ever happens!  Date day and date night?!  Yep - pretty much never!

Memorial Day we headed to the zoo....followed by Trader Joe's....naps...and to a gathering at a friends house for food, swimming and fellowship.  It was a nice day!
