Can't leave these two alone for a second...

Apparently Olivia's hands were cold, so Daddy put socks on them! Poor baby girl! :)

O's 1st Pigtails

I've been wanting to try pigtails on Olivia for a while now, so I finally got some small hair bands. I'll probably wait for her hair to grow a little more before leaving the house, but I still thought she looked super cute! I tried to put some ribbons in her hair, but she wouldn't allow it!

13 Months

Olivia, I can't believe you are already 13 months old! It seems like your first birthday was a week ago! What are you doing at 1 year and 1 month old? Well, here's a little list...

• You seem to have gained a lot of weight since switching from formula to whole milk....or maybe it's because you aren't quite as picky as you used to be and are eating a lot more food. Regardless, I think you've recently gone through a growth spurt.
  
• You have 6 teeth, and just a month ago you only had 1! You cut your 2nd bottom one and four top ones all at the same time! Luckily you aren't too fussy about it though. Thank goodness!
  
• Last week we taught you that a bee says "bzzzzz", and I'm pretty sure yesterday you said dog for the first time. (I usually call them puppies, which I'm sure would be much more difficult for you to say!)
  
• You took 2 steps yesterday! You're starting to stand alone a lot more and are getting braver by the day, but you are still very cautious and hold on to my hands VERY tightly when walking.
  
• You cover your mouth when you cough. I don't know if you are doing it naturally or if someone taught it to you, but it's really cute.
  
• You still LOVE daycare and love going. Sometimes you even cry when I pick you up! Mrs. Marlyn (your teacher) goes to our church and you always seem confused but very excited to see her there! I wish she also kept the church nursery because you've decided that you HATE going in there. You did better last week, so maybe we're making some progress!
  
• You know "more" and "please" in sign language. You may know more, but that's all I've picked up on! They teach you that at daycare. You also do art projects regularly, and I hear you love it.
  
• Currently, your Bumbo is your favorite "toy". You love to get in it, get out, get in it, get out....you'll do it for a good 20-30 minutes if we let you. You were "missing" one day last week, and I finally found you sitting in your closet in your Bumbo. Silly girl!
  
• You smile and say "hey" to everyone we meet in public. You think everyone has to talk to you. You may be spoiled just a little bit.
  

We love you very very very much! At this rate, your 2nd birthday will be here before we know it! You are growing up way too fast for mommy, but with each day you get cuter and funnier (but also gain more and more attitude....who know that it started so young??!?!?.....I'm being told you learned it from your momma....but I don't believe that!!!).

Nobody Puts Baby In the Corner

I caught Olivia playing in the corner yesterday. I don't know what she was doing, but she sure thought it was funny. She just sat and would look side to side and laugh. I had to grab the camera (which is always within reach in our home)! I love that she thought it was so funny. She keeps me laughing all the time!

Valentine's Day

These pictures are probably out of order, but I didn't feel like uploading them again! We didn't do much for Valentine's Day. We woke up, went to church, ate a late breakfast at Gram E's, came home and napped, grocery shopped, ate dinner, and now watching tv and writing a blog!

Since daycare was closed on Friday due to the weather, they are having their Valentine's Day parties on Monday. These are the Valentines that I made for Olivia's friends in her class (a little book, some goldfish and a snack bar).

These are the cookies I made for the daycare staff. They aren't iced the prettiest, but hopefully they taste good!

Olivia has a new funny smile. She's so silly.

Yum....Snow!

I made snow ice cream this morning, which was quite tasty! I gave Olivia some plain snow to play with while I made the ice cream, and she apparently thought she was suppose to eat it. I don't think she expected it to be that cold!

Winter Wonderland

We had record snowfall in North Texas yesterday. It snowed constantly for about 24 hours, and I believe the official total was a little over 12 inches. We measured and had about 7 1/2 inches at our house. It's just gorgeous!

We took Olivia out after we got home from work yesterday. She was so tired and not real interested. She cried when we took her mittens off so she could feel it. We may try again this afternoon!

I went for a walk this morning and this tree blocked my path. It broke off from the weight of the snow.

Yum.....Toes!

One night Olivia started sucking her big toe after her bath. When she realized I thought it was funny, she was only encouraged to do it more. Now this is something she does every night.

More Canteloupe Please

Olivia (and I'm sure most other kids) SHUTS DOWN when the video camera comes on. She never does anything I ask her to do! Well, I grabbed the camera last night when she was eating some canteloupe because she was making really funny faces. I can't quite tell if she liked it or not! Anyway, she said please in sign language, waved bye-bye, nodded yes, and blew kisses (but of course I turned it off just as she did it)! Good job Olivia! It's about time! HA!

It's kind of long, but stick it out...you grandmas will like it! :)

Toys, Toys and More Toys

So nothing real profound to say today....but...

How can one sweet, little, innocent, precious angel make such a big mess in such a small amount of time? I don't know how many times a day a mommy can pick up toys to only have a little one go right behind her and pull them all right back out. It's a never ending cycle. You more experienced moms out there already know this! Man, I can't imagine what it will be like when she's walking! Today I am very thankful that she cannot reach the baskets in the top of her shelves that house even more toys and books!

One Year Pics

We had Olivia's pictures done a couple of days prior to her first birthday. She was not feeling too good that day...it was the day she got hand, mouth, foot, and her fever was near 103. I still think the pictures turned out pretty cute (even though her hair wasn't really cooperating! Ha!).

Grandparents, Great-granparents, Aunts, etc.....you should be receiving copies of some in the mail next week. If there are any you'd like copies of that you did not receive, you'll have to let me know. I just had a bunch printed and divided up among everyone the best I could! Also, I can change from color to black and white or the opposite...just let me know what you want!
