Pigtails, Playground, Pond, Pretty in Pink and Ponytails

Despite having to work for a couple of hours Sunday (which turns into much more when you consider the long drive), we were able to have a lot of quality family time this weekend. We didn't do anything real exciting...or exciting at all for that matter...we just spent time together!

PIGTAILS:
I haven't put Olivia's hair in pigtails for a while, so I gave it a try Friday afternoon. While her hair has grown, her pigtails are still kind of spiky.

PLAYGROUND
Our town was having a Heritage Festival on Saturday, so we headed down to the park to see what all was going on. There were a lot of activities that would have been great for Olivia two years from now, but not a whole lot for us to do this year! So, we headed over to the playground instead! Olivia is NOT the daredevil child. She never has been. She is usually very cautious about everything. While she enjoys sliding, it's really hard for her to let go and slide. It's so interesting to me how even at such a young age, they already know to be scared about things.

POND
After the playground, we took a walk around a little pond and fed the ducks.

All we had on us were Puffs, but the ducks didn't seem to mind at all!

PRETTY IN PINK
I just love our little girl in baby pink....so sweet and innocent! This was the best pic I could get of her today after church. And yes, she has a bruise on her cheek. She fell off the couch early last week. The bruise started off not so bad, got worse, and is now getting better again. Yeah!

PONYTAILS
Olivia and I were playing hairdresser and got matching ponytails today. We don't care at all that daddy thinks we're silly!

FW Zoo Day~finally!

On Wednesday, a group of friends and I took 5 super cute kids (all under the age of 3) to to the Fort Worth Zoo. We had a really good time and hopefully we can go again soon!

This little girl LOVES to brush her teeth. If she's not in a good mood, I can just mention brushing her teeth and she gets so excited. She always brushes them while sitting on the sink so she can see herself. Such a cutie pie!

Quick Trip to Dripping Springs

We've been planning on going to Jason's grandparents for a few weeks. We finally had a free Saturday and decided to go down to Dripping Springs for the day. Unfortunately, Olivia developed an ear infection Friday night (or at least, that's when I noticed the drainage out of her ear). Needless to say, she wasn't feeling good at all. We decided to go ahead and go on Saturday, as we weren't sure the next time we'd be able to go. By the time we got to their house (3 1/2-4 hour trip), Olivia really wasn't feeling very good and her fever had returned. Since I spent most of the time taking care of her and rocking her, I didn't take ANY pictures other than these that I took on my phone as we were saying our good-byes.

Unfortunately, Olivia's tummy got upset and she threw up in the car when we were about 5 minutes from home! Poor poor baby (and kind of poor mommy & daddy for having to clean it up!....particularly poor mommy's car who smells really bad)!!! Luckily Olivia hasn't been sick to her tummy at all today, so now it appears now we're only dealing with the ear infection. Since she has had so many, we had antibiotic ear drops on hand, so we've just been using those. Hopefully we can avoid the doctor this time! :)

Hudson's New House

Olivia and I went to see Nicole & Hudson's new house on Sunday. Don't expect any pictures of the house...I realized when downloading that I only took pictures of the kids! We went to lunch at Gloria's, one of our favorite Mexican food restaurants out where they live. It's in the Harbor District, an area of Rockwall that's right on the lake and really pretty. We've been several times, but this was the first time the kids were big enough to really run around and play. As you can see, they had a really good time!

Olivia loved the fountain and cried when we left. She turned and said "bye-bye wa-wa".

Back at the house, Hudson drove Olivia around in his truck. They were so funny. Olivia was so laid back and just enjoyed the ride.

Nicole showed her that there was a radio. Well, my music baby LOVED turning it on...and Hudson loved turning it off! Hudson is hilarious driving his truck. He hangs his arm out the side. He also fist bumps! I've tried to teach Olivia before, but she just high fives instead.

First Pumpkins of 2010

Who doesn't love the required yearly pumpkin patch pictures?! I LOVE this time of year. The weather finally begins to cool off and you can almost smell the Holidays around the corner!

This weekend we had our first pumpkin patch photo opportunity. A local plant nursery was having Kid's Day. They had pumpkin decorating, sidewalk chalk, balloons, etc. Olivia really enjoyed running around (literally). It was really tough to get her to sit still long enough to take pictures! Oh well...I'm sure we'll have a few more opportunities to get that perfect pumpkin picture!

She spotted the "boons" as soon as we got there, and she was bound and determined to find out where to get one! As youc an see, she succeeded!
